Readers/Tutors needed for CMPM 80J: Game Studies Course

Our teaching team is looking to hire Readers and Tutors who are interested in media studies for CMPM80J. 80J examines games as technical and cultural artifacts—shaped by society and, in turn, shaping it. Core topics are traced over time, including social, technical, and artistic topics (for example: conceptions of war, platform affordances, and genre evolution).

The Reader position pays $20.40 an hour ($21.28/hour for readers with a BS or BA). -Responsibilities: Work with the TeachingTeam to support grading and feedback for student work and meet with the Teaching Team once a week.
-Qualifications: reliable, fair, strong at peer feedback, strong grasp of class materials and interest in the class topic.

A Group Tutor position pays $27.42/hour
-Responsibilities: Supporting TAs by tutoring smaller groups on class materials and readings, helping to focus discussion, strong grasp of reading and other material, and meeting with the Teaching Team once a week and report back.
-Qualifications: reliable, strong communication skills, strong skills in reading comprehension, able to prompt discussion, able to attend class sections: 1-4 hours a week.
