The Makers’ Market is back – this time with a Pokémon twist! Hosted by the UCSC Women’s Center in collaboration with The Cantu Queer Center and Baskin Engineering, this makers’ market uplifts student entrepreneurs and creatives with an inclusive space to share their art, crafts, and passions. ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
Join us Wednesday, October 29th from 4-7 PM at Porter Quad for an eventing of community, creativity, and all things Pokémon. The event will feature 20-30 student vendors selling their original art, stickers, jewelry, clothing, zines, and more.
Beyond shopping, guests can participate in fun themed activities like trading cards, Pokémon GO walks, trivia, Pokéball bowling, and a cosplay contest with prizes! We will also have live performances from UCSC students to keep the energy high all evening as well as a face-painting studio and photo booth!
The Women’s Center mission is to affirm the identity and diversity of all women and gender-expansive students. By hosting spaces like the makers’ market, we aim to amplify student entrepreneurs, especially those from marginalized identities, and create accessible opportunities for creative and financial growth.
Food and refreshments will be provided for free, with a mix of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options to ensure accessibility for all. Mark your calendars and bring your friends – whether you’re a Pokémon fan, and animé enthusiast, or simply excited to support UCSC’s talented student makers, this event is for you. Admission is free and open to the entire UCSC community. Ϟ(๑⚈ ․̫ ⚈๑)⋆
