Students discover and help patch cybersecurity flaw for free laundry
Two Baskin Engineering students uncovered a security bug in internet-connected laundry machines, that could have allowed millions to do their laundry for free. The pair investigated the issue using resources at UCSC’s Slug Security Club then collaborated with the company to fix the bug.

Meet the Google Developer Student Club (GDSC)
GDSC’s goal is to bridge the gap between theory and practice in computer science in a supportive and inclusive environment. We provide industry-relevant technical workshops, resource panels, and project experience, with an emphasis on Google developer technologies. Members have the chance to participate in the annual Solution Challenge which emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and creativity.
