Jennifer Wood

Jennifer Wood (she, her)

MESA Academic Counselor

Jennifer supports Mathematics, Engineering and Science Achievement (MESA) Engineering Program students in a variety of ways. MESA students come in with any number of strengths but they also come in with any number of weaknesses or holes in their learning process. Jennifer coordinates certain services such as a lending library, works very closely with the Learning Support office for tutoring, and works with students on their individual learning needs such as time management issues, or study skills help. Making the transition from high school or community college to university can be really rough and so she helps demystify that process for them, and helps them brainstorm techniques for ways they can succeed at UC Santa Cruz.
