CMPM115 Lead by Design: Experiential Learning Collaborative
Students work in teams to develop a template for a 10-week-long engineering design project.
- General Education Code PR-E
- Enrollment is restricted to juniors and senior undergrads.
- The course teaches teamwork, leadership skills, inclusive team practices, agile process, engineering ethics, and identity formation in engineers.
- New approach: This year, the 5-unit course will be divided into 2-unit and 3-unit sequences. In the 1st quarter, LBD student teams build and test a prototype. In the 2nd quarter LBD teams design and refine the curricular scaffolding to empower other students to do the same. After completing this two-quarter course design sequence, upper division students are eligible for hire as Group Tutors ($24/hr) working under the supervision of a BE Teaching Professor (Tela Favoloro or David Bernick) to deliver Early-Design Build Course modules covering the topic of interest. In anticipation of a Strike we will conduct both info sessions via zoom.
